Emojis are a crucial part of everyone's daily life. They help us to express emotions when we need to communicate with a written language. Have you ever asked yourself why everyone seems so angry and serious in emails? Just written words make text feel emotionless and emojis help us to solve that problem. People who use the braille language are forced to use words of the alphabet to express their emotions. Based on our research, this is one of the things that visually impaired people miss the most in communicating efficiently. BLIND EMOJIS is an experimental solution to make possible a visual language for a visually impaired audience. The project is a bridge that connects emojis and blind people.

Blind Emojis started as a collective project between Josefina Kunz and Kristrun Bjorgvinsdottir. Two graphic designers who came from opposite sides of the world (Chile and Iceland) two different cultures, languages, alphabets and amount of day light. But both convinced that language is not here to separate us but to connect us.

Absolutely proud and exhited to not just be part of the exhibition of "Design Inclusivo", but also having the opportunity and space to give a speech about this project we love so much.
IED Milano theather space (via Pompeo Leoni 3) becomes, on 19th and 20th September, one of the widespread venues of the Festival delle Abilità, which reaches its fifth edition, organized by Fondazione Castorina Onlus and blog Invisibili (Corriere della Sera).
